Medieval Bridge

Bridge over the watercourse Ambra, located in the hamlet of Pogi. The structure is characterized by a donkey-back profile and five full-arched arches resting on pre-existing pillars, probably from the Roman era. The masonry technique is composed of drafts of local stone placed on irregular equipment. The bridge was functional in the middle ages, when crossing the sienese road that entered in Valdambra from the castle of Montalto della Berardenga and followed the course of Ambra stream.
